Do you accept returns?

Yes, we accept returns within 30 days of purchase. Items must be in resalable condition and include all original packaging. See more details in Nivessa's refund policy.

If I give you the name of a record, can you tell me if you have it?

Yes, you can search 15,000+ listings on our website or Discogs or give us a call at 732-996-3224. 75% of our inventory is not online yet.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes we do, you can purchase a gift card here.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open every day from 9:00 am-7:00 pm.

Can I listen to a record before buying it?

Yes, we have a listening station where you can test out any record before you buy it.

Do you buy records?

Yes, every day. No appointment is necessary - just come in or call us and we can come to you if you have a big lot.

What genres of music do you buy?

We buy all genres of music.

What do you sell in-store?

We carry almost every genre of records, lots of Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, Soundtracks, Hip Hop, Reggae, African, Latin, New Wave, Electronic, Metal and a huge selection of new sealed records. We have 12", LPs, 45s. We sell merchandise too. We carry all media formats: CDs, box sets, DVDs, VHS, 8 tracks, cassettes, posters - we try to have something for everyone. We only buy/sell books that are related to music.

Do you sell turntables?

We usually have a few turntables available for sale and receivers as well.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept almost anything – card, cash, Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle.

Are you hiring?

Yes, we are always hiring for part-time and full-time positions. Check out Nivessa Careers for more info.

How long has the store been around?

The store has been open since May 2022.

Can I bring my dog to Nivessa?

Of course, furry friends are welcome.

Do you offer special rates for bulk purchases?

Absolutely, especially if you don't have a preference about the types of records you receive - we can offer you bulk records at a super affordable rate. Call us to discuss 732-996-3224.

Do you have any events I can attend?

Yes! We host a variety of events, including in-store performances, meet-and-greets with artists and record release parties. We also offer a variety of classes and workshops, such as DJ'ing, record collecting and music production. Check out what is upcoming here.

Can I host an event at Nivessa?

Would love to have you - contact us! If you're a musician or DJ perhaps we can do a show. We verify that you have some type of Instagram/social media presence before performing to confirm that you have an audience.

Do you do Record Store Day?

Yes, we do! Mark your calendars for Black Friday in November.

On Buying

We are a "maximalist" buyer. We buy full collections and do not cherry-pick. We believe that we may be able to find a buyer for 85-90% of records bought eventually if not through our store, then through another channel. The remainder of the records we buy from you that may never sell at market prices, we try to offload at about 35 cents a piece in bulk. We can also give you more money in store credit if that's what you are looking for.

On Selling

We try to be competitive with online prices (before shipping costs). For example, if a record is $5 online with $5 shipping, we will likely charge you $4-$5 and not $10. I mean, we need a reason for you to come into our store! If you have records to sell just call/text us at 732-996-3224 We are down to earth, not record snobs.

On Values: Customer Service is #1

We greet customers when they walk into our store and we won't ask you a million questions on what you want. If we see you walking out empty-handed, we may ask if you were looking for something that you didn't find or if the record you wanted wasn't in stock and maybe we can text you if it gets in stock.

On Community
