The Vintage Record
The shop is located in the heart of Sydney's premiere music retail area, with Jacksons Rare Guitars, The Bass People, Music 101, Gallins Guitars and Sydney Guitar Set-Ups close by. Live music venues The Annandale Hotel and The Empire Hotel are also found on the same retail strip. This gives the area a real vibrancy with a definite bent to musicians and live music. The store services these people by stocking quality vinyl from the past 60 years as well as new releases and re-issues. A reliable record finding service is also available. With the resurgence in people searching for original vinyl the in-store stock is constantly turning over and being replenished with records acquired from a multitude of sources. The store has existed since 1978 supplying Sydney and Australia with all things metal, hard rock, punk, alternative and anything in between. The store has moved from location to location for the past few decades and currently is found just around from the corner of Kent and Bathurst Street (entrance on Bathurst Street) in Sydney’s CBD. If you’re catching public transport we’re about a 3 minute walk from Town Hall station.

Through this time the store has grown from a supplier to not only to mural artists, but also to practitioners of fine arts, the film and television industry, schools and councils. Over the years, we have supported numerous projects and events in the community and have given support to a swag of musicians, artists and enterprising locals by selling or showcasing their product. We feel that this is only the beginning of our history.
