Rough Trade has always been on my todo-list when I went record shopping in London back in the 90s. But that was Rough Trade in Nottinghill, now called Rough Trade West, and it was (and still is) a small independent store (will post some photos soon). In 2007 Rough Trade opened a huge store in the old Truman Brewery in a courtyard off Brick Lane, and this was totally different to that old, small, dusty store in Nottinghill. This huge store has become their UK flagship store, and of course they sell vinyl, but also a huge selection of books and cds. They have a bar and a stage and all records come with a short description. Behind the counter I met Lee, who is head of this department. : As I mentioned earlier, my 2nd day was dedicated to street art. If you are interested, you should check out this whole area - there is so much to see.
